🧵👗✨ I think sewists are natural rule-breakers. Or maybe we’re just a bunch of utterly practical AND creative people, and that shows up in our hacks. Let’s take a closer look at Erin’s recent #Saltwhistledress and discuss her 3 practical and creative additions: Straight hem Ruffled tiers Pockets! How to do these little modifications? 1. Draw a straight line under the pattern’s original scallop hem for a straight hem. 2. Measure your tiers. Use the peplum piece for the first two tiers, making the second one 1.5 times wider. The third tier is 1.5 times the length of the second tier using the middle skirt piece. 3. Add pockets from your fave pattern— Erin used the Caprice Skirt pockets! Attach to the top tier, sew, and baste in place. Sew the peplum tier to the bodice, matching pockets to the front. And voila!
