This class is great for a beginner sewist. I was hoping it would have a little more guidance for customizing fit after the pants are assembled, but if I were a true “newbie” to sewing, I would most definitely appreciate a course like this!
I would recommend adding a section about how to add the elastic in to the yoga waistband – I had a little trouble figuring out the best method for getting all the pieces together properly.

So far, so good. I’m almost finished with my Duet trousers. I made a pair of knit shorts with the yoga band, which worked out great. I’m now making a pair of dress slacks and about ready to add the zipper. I’m not sure using the same pattern for a knit fabric and a woven fabric works that well. I had to do a lot more fitting for the woven fabric. My mistake was not adding enough give in the woven pattern vs. the knit. This pattern includes a fitting guide, which is really nice. I think a few more guidelines regarding the difference between knit and woven fabrics would be really helpful. Overall I’m very pleased with this course, but I have a lot more to learn about fitting. I’m not a beginner. I consider myself an intermediate sewer. I would definitely consider taking another course.

This course is so helpful in how to construct the duet trousers. Tammi takes you through step by step from the beginning of choosing your fabrics through choosing sizes and then step by step through the construction on the knit and the woven. She offers tips and tricks along the way and you see the actual sewing up close. Another well done class for a great price!
