I have made this dress 3 times so far and have plans for more. My kids absolutely love this dress and immediately put it on as soon as it comes out of the wash. The fit on the dress is great and it was a fairly quick sew.
Printing this pattern is also a snap and the feature of using the pdf layers to turn off the sizes that you don’t need helps speed up the process of putting the whole pattern together.
My only regret with this pattern is that there isn’t a women’s version. I really want one for myself.

I sew this up almost immediately after I bought the pattern. I love LOVE NOTIONS!
Instructions are clear as always and printing in the size you want is a breeze with the help of PDF Layer.
Dress is an easy sew and I see many more in future!

Hi !
I just made your gorgeous Mallory Dress for my daughter (10 yrs old, born in ’04 – and Mallory was on the short-list for names for her, but she ended up as a Heather).
It turned out lovely in an off white waffle knit, with a striped jersey lining the hood.
I did have one small issue – and it could be because I’m really little more than a novice when it comes to sewing.
At the start, where I was putting the hood together, I opted for the turn-and-topstitch method. The directions state to sew the “Front and tails” together, but that doesn’t work.
I figured it out in the next part – I needed to sew the front and the FRONT OF the tails together.
Much stitch ripping ensued, and the dress was done just a couple hours later, so it was far from being a big issue, just a hiccup along the way.
Thank you for making such wonderful, modest, and age- appropriate clothing available for our girls, I really do appreciate it.
Blessings,
Lea and Heather

Thank you for the review Lea. I will update the tutorial with a little illustration showing that step more clearly. 🙂

Such a easy pattern that can be done many different ways. I even used this to make my son a double long/short sleeve shirt! So cute!

This makes up one of the cutest yet simple dresses ever! My girls love the twirl and the hood. Very easy instructions! I love that there are so many photos to follow as I struggle to follow written instructions.

Great fall dress for us. Fit is perfect, twirl-ability rated high, and the options of different lengths are appreciated.

Love this pattern! It was easy to follow and quick to sew even as a novice. I have made 2 so far (more to come I’m sure!) and my daughter gets so many compliments on them 🙂

So cute. I see my girls living in these dresses all summer. I love the hood with the crossover bodice. Such a nice detail.

This pattern was a favorite when my grand daughter was small. She always wanted a hood on everything. Now that she is older, she is in love with same crossover top of the Tranquil gown and PJs. The details make this pattern look much harder than it is.
