I have almost finished my first Geneva. Some warnings. The neck is very high! My zipper ended up being too long and I had to work to get it to fit, but my hem ended up pointy. I just ripped the whole thing out and I am going to re-shape the hem and shorten the zipper. This has been a real learning experience. I wish there were waist markings on the pattern. I need to take in the princess seams a bit. I found the zipper pockets difficult, but Karina’s video helps. Once I fix it, I will post a picture on the Facebook page. That said, once it’s perfected, I plan to make a lot of them!

Loved this pattern when it was released this year and it’s been on my radar for a Christmas make for my mom. I just made one for myself this past weekend and absolutely love how it turned out. Wore it yesterday, in fact. Mom’s version is already altered and cut out, waiting to be sewn. I’m in a debate with myself whether to make her a second one. Decisions decisions. I made the asymmetrical zip version with welt pockets. I had to refer to the Metra tutorial for the pockets as I couldn’t remember how to do them.

I got the class & a kit on your site with a pretty burgundy knit for this pattern. Now that I’m newly retired, I can make this, it will be perfect for all year here in Chicago.
