The minute I saw this pattern I squealed. It’s all I ever wanted in a sundress pattern. I just finished sewing my first one and it is just as I expected: fabulous! Great pattern and with a few adjustments to my body I have a beautiful sundress. I sewed the knee length version but added an inch in length ( I am 5’6″ approx). I used a lightweight rayon that is perfect for summer. Thank you for another great pattern. I can’t wait to sew more!

When I saw this pattern I knew I wanted to make it right away. The instructions are very clear and have great images to help make the steps easy to understand. I love the shirring detail in the back, the tiered skirt, and that is has pockets. I love that I can wear it with a bodysuit or t-shirt underneath. This is definitely a favorite pattern for me! I would 100% recommend!

I absolutely adore this dress and have enjoyed every bit of the sewing process in making this dress. I’ve made 2 thus far, but see more in my future makes. It’s the perfect sundress. The wide straps and design of the neckline make this style fit very well over a bra with no visible signs of your under garments, even with a wider strap bra. I had never shirred anything prior to this pattern. The process was very easy and turned out perfectly the first time. Love Notions instructions are always very well written and easy to understand. I highly recommend this pattern!

This is the first non costume dress I have ever made. It was so fun to put together, the shirring detail was easier than I thought. I did end up putting in underbust darts as there are 10 inches between my bust and waist measurements, so thus allowed some shaping in my case. The skirt has the perfect amount of movement. Have gotten compliments each time I wore it!! One of the things I like best about love notions is how well the pattern peices fit together .

I made 2 dresses from this pattern, the wearable toile & the one in a fine cotton fabric. The shirred panel in the back gave me some issues but was resolved when I adjusted the machine tension. Love Love Love this dress.

I have just finished making this dress, ready for our English summer. I used a cotton batik fabric and love this dress. I will be making more. Thank you for a great pattern.

This is EXACTLY what I was looking for. I’ve made it up in a gorgeous navy linen, and just adore wearing this dress.

  8. kj.broady

Love this dress. Not as hard as I imagined. Made my test out of a colorful bedsheet and it actually turned out good enough to wear!

  9. emily.nucaro

I love this dress pattern. I had just the right amount of ease and the elastic back ensures that it’ll be comfortable no matter what you’re doing
It also works well with quilting cotton/poplin, which I always appreciate.

Such a fun sundress! I made this in a boardshort material to have a quick-drying, airy dress for the summer, and this design lends itself to that perfectly. Love that there’s a full bust option built into the pattern, it makes it so much easier. I did have some trouble with the elastic thread shirring, but the elastic panel method worked great for me and I’m glad it was an option!

I love this pattern! It looks great on and is so comfortable and easy to wear. I have several tempo dresses so far and they are in constant rotation all summer long.

My all time favorite sundress’ and it comes together easy despite it looking difficult. Learned a lot doing this pattern and really enjoyed it! Fits great and flattering!

One of the testers helped me make my Tempo Sundress by suggesting I could buy the back fabric already shirred. As I wasn’t ready for that skill I did as she said and my dress came out perfect! I’m keeping this dress pattern in my back pocket until I’m ready to up my sewing game even more! Until then I have a way to make beautiful summer dresses!

  14. Rene Lewthwaite

Such a cute sundress pattern (and it has optional pockets!). It’s so comfy and easy to wear. Love that you have the option to choose whether you want a shirred or elasticated back panel! As always, the instructions are clear and easy to follow.

  15. Chantal Da Fonseca

An interesting pattern love the neckline and shirring was super fun to do. The busy dart was high on me and I added the extra challenge of trying to line my version. Despite the challenges my lemon Tempo is my fav summer dress and everytime I wear it I get a ton of compliments!

This is the sweetest summer dress ever, simple ,stylish and so easy to sew. I even challenged myself to do the shirring option. I’ve been using my kids old bedsheets for toilets & this wonderful sundress was no different. I’d just finished tacking the straps for the final fitting when my youngest and her family dropped by so I put it down to play with the grandkids. Next thing, my daughter is twirling through the living room, telling me how much she loves her new dress. 🙂 She was thrilled to tell people ” my mum made it for me” whenever anyone complimented her dress.
Thanks for your amazing patterns that make it easier to make my loved one’s heart’s happy.

  18. Jennifer Maddock

It turned out well, but I used a quilting cotton and I had difficulty shirring it. I will try it again in a much lighter weight fabric.

I found a tablecloth that needed to become a dress. This pattern was easy to use. I loved how easy it was to put together when I printed it at home. Lining up the pattern on two sides was extremely helpful. This was my first time successfully making a garment from woven fabric, and I was so excited about the results.
