  1. Mic Cas

Very versatile pattern. Can be used for any age, from professional to casual. A blazer can elevate any look, from pants to shorts, you cannot go wrong with this one.

  2. Debi Mager (verified owner)

I fell in love with the Metra when I saw it before it was released. As a newer sewist, I was nervous about sewing it. It sewed up easier than I thought it would. It’s a great pattern that I plan to sew again!

  3. helenafrankel (verified owner)

This blazer turned out beautiful with the excellent instructions. The many pictures from testers were also helpful in picturing fabric possibilities.

  4. Gail Pelton (verified owner)

I was a little nervous about making this, but I watched the tutorial and carefully followed the instructions. I was so happy with the way it turned out, a friend asked me where I got it !

  5. Linda Ross (verified owner)

This was fun to make. The little tricks for the pocket and the burrito collar make you feel like a professional sewist.

  6. Lizel S (verified owner)

Love love love this one. I made a black version to wear to work. Got many compliments. I dress it down with jeans as well. Super nice. Great pattern and good instructions!

  7. Debbie Dobson (verified owner)

I saw one of the owners of my favorite quilting shop wearing this and fell in love! They were going to have a class on it, but I could not wait and purchased the fabric in the store and the pattern online right away. Love this blazer! It is comfortable and beautiful. I struggled a little with the collar at the shoulder but after watching the video, aced it! The video was so helpful! I looks gorgeous, I want to try making another and adjust the length for a different look. Very versatile.

  8. Tracy Marshall (verified owner)

I love this pattern. It came together so beautifully and those pockets are magic! I can’t wait to make more.

  9. Nicole Gille (verified owner)

I had never made a jacket/blazer before making this pattern and I was able to complete the whole process within a few hours. My Metra blazer came out so well. Love Notions provides such great patterns with easy to follow instructions. What I really love about Love Notions is the links to video instructions at all the tricky spots.

  10. snyder2501 (verified owner)

I had never made a blazer before this one either, but loved the workshop where I made mine. And then I was able to use the burrito roll method that I learned on yet another Love Notions pattern!

  11. Karla Brown (verified owner)

I have now made three versions of this pattern! One in a knit faux leather. One in ponte knit. One in French terry. I love them all. The comfort of knit cardigan with the style and cut of a classic little jacket. This is one beautiful pattern.

  12. Michelle Hall (verified owner)

I am a beginner. I took the course when i purchased the blazer. The Metra is the 4th garment I have ever sewn and the very first Love Notions pattern I ever made. The class was a huge benefit. It was a great class with excellent guidance. I love how my Metra Blazer turned out, it was so much fun to make and I love wearing it. Since it was my first LN make, I just went with the 3X to see how that would fit me, and its perfect. I could have graded back and forth between a few, but I went with that, and I think it fits perfect. I have gotten many compliments on it. I shared my photo in the LN FB group.

  13. Christina (verified owner)

I love this jacket. It can be fairly casual or fairly dressy. MASSIVE pockets. Easy to sew. Super comfortable but polished.

  14. joannclapacs (verified owner)

I purchased the Metra so I could make this blazer for my daughter. I totally love it and so did she! Awesome pattern. I even told the owner of Pins and Needles in Cleveland that she should check out your company for patterns that are simple enough that a beginner would be able to make them.

  15. michelle_hall36 (verified owner)

I am a beginner. The Metra Blazer is the 4th garment I ever sewed and my first Love Notions pattern. I took the class and it was excellent. I really enjoyed learning and making this blazer and i love wearing it. I get lots of compliments. Because it was my first time making a LN pattern, i just went for the 3X w/FBA and did not make any other adjustments and I think the fit is perfect.

  16. Deneane Keane (verified owner)

I never imagined I would be able to sew something like a blazer! This is a great pattern with easy to follow instructions (like all LN patterns) and the result is a garment that I love and I’m always secretly hoping people will ask me about it so I can say I made it!

  17. Joen Venitsky (verified owner)

The Metra Blazer is the perfect topper. I took the on line workshop and it was fun to sew along with other ladies and learning great sewing tips. Can’t wait to make my next Metra.

  18. Stacey Gambetti (verified owner)

I have made this Metra Blazer twice already and have 2 more planned ready to cut out. It looks much more complicated than it was. Such an easy yet stylish pattern, Thanks LN 🙂

  19. Julianna (verified owner)

I love this pattern! I’ve made two so far and will certainly make more. You can dress it up for the office, or throw it on over jeans and a tee and look instantly polished.

  20. Julie Boylan (verified owner)

I didn’t think that I could make a jacket because I’m just getting back into sewing after a long time away from it. Even back when I was sewing frequently – back in the day – I wouldn’t have tackled a garment like this one. However, it was surprisingly easy to make and turned out really well. I love the pockets. A jacket, even a looser and unstructured jacket, makes anything I wear it with look like I took the time to ‘get dressed’.

  21. Linda Riemer (verified owner)

Very cute and easy to see!

  22. Andrea Guedez (verified owner)

I have made two of these. Usually the construction of blazers is not easy and I am amazed at the final results!! Love notions patterns are made for beginners to confident sewists and the final results are awesome.

  23. Amy Sellers (verified owner)

I felt such a sense of accomplishment making the Metra Blazer. Thank you for making a simple pattern that would magically help me actually sew a comfortable and versatile blazer to wear over just about anything! Thanks also for including instructional videos. The pockets and collar is awesome and the fit amazing.

  24. Sheryl

The written instructions are incomplete for the collar & conflict with the YouTube video, which must be watched in order to get the complete set of instructions. I found this to be very frustrating and confusing. I felt the shoulder construction with pivoting method was poorly designed & difficult to do with knits. Would not recommend for a beginner.

  25. Josephine (verified owner)

I could not love this pattern more. I’ve worn it to a first date, an important client meeting and a fun night out with my sisters. It’s perfect!

  26. mtngirlpaleo (verified owner)

The Metra blazer is fantastic! I started with one in a ponte, then one in liverpool, and most recently one in a delightful scuba knit and they all fit perfectly!

  27. Tamara (verified owner)

I did the online workshop for this Blazer & can’t believe how beautiful it came out as a new garment maker! Thank you for such a well drafted pattern & a super helpful workshop!

  28. deewan.anshu (verified owner)

It’s by far the most professional jacket in my wardrobe! And it was easy to sew with the instructions too!

  29. Gaby20ster (verified owner)

If you want to make a blazer and not die in the attempt go for this one!! Also I love the burrito method applied!! It took me few hours and I consider myself confident beginner! Their instructions are great and the sew along so much helpful!

  30. susan james (verified owner)

Love the blazer, It is really cute. Uses a sueded knit fabric that is beautiful. However had a great deal of difficulty with the neck edge of collar. Looks like the markings are not correct. Also when clipped, the little opening showed on the outside. Blazer has turned out really nice , but did have difficulty. and made it work.

  31. Sharon Soar (verified owner)

The Metra blazer has come into it’s own during the last few weeks now the weather is changing. It is great for layering over a T shirt for a smart casual look. I made mine from Scuba. Once you get your head around the pockets it is a relatively easy make. I watched a few Lovenotions/ambassador videos first. My only schoolgirl error was to to scald it with a hot iron, so had to add a design feature around the front side hems. I’m just waiting for some material to make another one or two.

  32. powejj01 (verified owner)

I had this forever before I actually made it because I was intimidated by it. Once I finally made it, I was so impressed! The directions were fabulous and walked me right through making an amazing blazer

  33. Pat Semeraro (verified owner)

I have made 2 Metra blazers and both are comfortable and very stylish. The instructions for sewing them are great and I can’t wait to make another.

  34. jendemat (verified owner)

This is a great pattern that results in a stylish and versatile blazer that can work with a casual or dressy outfit. I used a faux suede fabric that has less structure than recommended and it was fine. Next up will be one in Ponte which is one of the recommended fabrics. Only drawback IMO is that cutting layout is not included.

  35. Deborah Corbett (verified owner)

I love the construction of this blazer. I had been looking for the pocket pattern piece, only to find the piece is part of the actual collar piece. Such a fabulous creation. I have two wool blankets about to become Metra coats.

  36. Monique Jansen (verified owner)

I was a bit intimidated to try this pattern but now I have made my first one and will definately make more. I shortened the body because I am short waisted. Great pattern and the instructions are so good!

  37. Gaby20ster (verified owner)

This is my favorite go to! It’s perfect for work interviews, but I even made one to dress up for casual meetings out of a leather -like fabric and it makes you look completely different. It is not complicated at all to make (I own 4 and gave away one) and the fit is flawless.

  38. odyjimg (verified owner)

I just made this Metra Blazer, and it came out fabulous!! First and foremost — easiest sleeves to set in EVER!! There have been remarks about difficulty with the collar. I had not problem at all because I watched Karina from Lifting pins and needles, and I bought the class from LN. The class from LN was well worth the cost of admission, if for no other reason to see the burrito method with the collar. I ended up sewing in the collar in the three layers, and had no issues. I have a gorgeous white Ponte I just bought to make another one. This will be a staple in my sewing wardrobe. Great quality, and I highly recommend buying the class as well.

  39. Kathy Norris (verified owner)

I absolutely love this pattern. I made a wearable muslin using a blush ponte from Cali Fabrics I struggled a bit with the pocket area but watched Tammi’s video and I got it, I had not sewn too many things for myself because the sizes on the patterns in the stores are so crazy, but Love Notions are spot on. I made the Tessa dress in the same fabric and every time I wear it I get lots of compliments even though this blush is not even in my color palette!!

  40. chroniclesofchristina (verified owner)

This pattern quickly has become a TNT for me. I’ve made it three times in the last couple of months – it helps me wear layers at work but I’m more styled than a cardigan. It’s a great pattern and the instructions are excellent at walking you through the tricky parts!

  41. Elena Pensabene (verified owner)

The Metra blazer Is such a good pattern. Can be both elegant and casual. Can be easily hacked. I learned a lot following the excellent instructions. Thank you, Tami.

  42. Nicole Martin-Schallhorn (verified owner)

Well constructed pattern. I’ve made one so far with plans for another. Fabric choice is important with this pattern so choose carefully.

  43. shelley Kearney (verified owner)

Totally inspired by TomKat Stitchery and Lifting Pins and Needles to make this blazer. I used some pink ponte roma from my stash thinking it would be a twirl but it turned out fab first time. I had felt it was to advance for me but the excellent instructions made it a breeze. I must also credit the amazing Karina of Lifting Pins and Needles for her Sew A Long too. Love Notions has the best ever support videos and if people like Karina and Whitney say the patterns good – believe me they are right.

  44. lrain1 (verified owner)

I have made this pattern once, I will be making more, the pockets were new for me but I did end up with a nice jacket.

  45. Sally Holmes (verified owner)

I bought this pattern after seeing a sleeveless version by Karina from Lifting pins and needles and I love it

  46. Marla Ripps (verified owner)

Love this blazer. I have made 3 so far (4 if you count my muslin). It is a very easy make. I can usually have it sewn up in an afternoon. I have even discovered that with a heavier weight ponte or scuba knit, I can make it a double breasted button up blazer (that fits me everywhere!) for a more classic look. I have plans to make several more and may even do a bit of embroidery on the collar.

  47. michellekwallace (verified owner)

This is one of my favourite Love Notions patterns. I’ve made two in ponte and I always get compliments when I wear them!

  48. mtngirlpaleo (verified owner)

I love that this blazer is for knits! I have made 3 different Metras in very different material, and they all have come out beautifully.

  49. denisehoehns (verified owner)

I am working on my second one.

  50. Rene Lewthwaite (verified owner)

This is a great pattern. Clear instructions and easy to sew. I find it’s super easy to make adjustments to this pattern to really get the perfect fit. The pockets are huge which is the best thing!

  51. heather-1210 (verified owner)

This blazer is so cool! I considered myself a confident beginner before I made this. I’ve now made two of these and proudly consider myself intermediate now.

  52. Stacy McDonald (verified owner)

I made this pattern in a bright pink to wear at a conference. Perfection!! Gorgeous fit and professional look. I look forward to dressing it down with jeans too.

  53. ekrisinger (verified owner)

Such a creative construction for this blazer! Worth adding to your library of patterns.

  54. Heidi Van De Stroet (verified owner)

I love this pattern! I have made 2 of these so far and love how comfortable yet classy it is.

  55. Rashawn Miller (verified owner)

I just completed my “muslin” version of this blazer in a liverpool knit. It’s delightful and cozy. I’m already thinking about my next version. The instructions are clear, and there are helpful videos available if you need a bit of guidance. I’m quite proud of my first blazer.
