Hi!  I’m Tami from SewSophieLynn and I’m excited to be sharing a new to me Love Notions pattern.  The Blissful Blazer has always caught my eye but I was super intimidated at the thought of actually sewing a blazer- tell me I’m not alone 😉

This pattern is packed with features and was the perfect pattern for me to jump into outerwear.

It comes in sizes 2t-14 and can be made with knits or wovens.  I think I spent more time picking fabric combinations for this project than actually sewing it because the possibilities are endless.  I was leaning towards a plaid flannel and lace combo but this girly had her heart set on this floral ponte.  Since it was knit I could do the majority of the sewing on my serger making this a much quicker project than I anticipated.

The princess seam details make for a great fit and an added touch of detail.  I topstitched my seams down for a nice finish.

My girl loves a little frill every now and then so this wide coral eyelet and sweet cream lace was the perfect feminine touch!  Using lace for the ruffles also saved me from having to hem the ruffles- another great time saver!

When she tried it on before I had done the buttons we both fell in love with it as is!  The ponte and french terry lining I used have great drape.  It has a very casual, open cardigan feel that I wasn’t expecting but is exactly her style.  This outfit suits her to a tee!

You can pick up the Blissful Blazer pattern today only for $6!

I want to give myself a little pat on the back for braving to try this pattern but if you’ve sewn this up yourself you know what a breeze it actually is! I probably could have sewn up two of them in the time I thought it would take me.  These kind of projects always leave me wanting more!  Looks like that plaid flannel will a Blissful Blazer afterall 😉

This looks lovely! Thanks for the sale, can’t wait to try it. It’s exactly why I sew-to make something beautiful and practical and useful that’s readily available.:)
