I just downloaded this pattern, and I am sooooooo excited! I’ve been waiting for this for what seems like hundreds of years — the perfect pattern, from my favorite pattern company, for the jacket/coat that I’ve been dreaming of! I simply can’t wait to print it out and get started! Yay!
Thank you, Love Notions, for all of your great, well designed, and easy-to-sew patterns! (But especially for this one!)

This was such a fun make! I made the zipper version and collar with avocado dyed canvas for a spring jacket, and it was a perfect weight for this. With great instructions, as well as watching Lifting Pins & Needles you-tube video, it was a joy to work on. Can’t wait to wear it this spring when the weather warms up!

I love this pattern! I made the button up, drawstring version without a hood out of washer linen. I interlined the front and back with flannel to make the perfect spring weight coat. I made a small with no modifications and it has plenty of room for layers underneath. It’s such a great sew that I have a hooded version planned for fall and I bought the men’s version to make for my husband.

I love this coat, I have made 2 so far and will be making more. I wear it every day. It is a nice make and fairly easy, straight forward make. People have expressed surprise that I made it.

Having made the bass clef pattern for Husband and one of our friends I was happy to make this one for myself. The pattern works and instructions are good but I have given 4 stars as there was some talk about lining the jacket and how easy it was on a vlog around the timing of the pattern release but no additional written instructions were released with this pattern.

It was the perfect coat to start my winter sewing. I followed the instructions on the Youtube video for adding a lining which was extremely helpful and made it warmer with the pre-quilted fabric. I plan on making the bass for my brother.

The Jacket is true to size , it’s a bit short on the torso I have made 3 of them and everytime I forget to add the welt pocket before the lining and have to pick a section off . But that’s user error .

This jacket pattern is very versatile. Easy to make a casual version or an upmarket version to match another garment (allegro trousers or any skirt). Have completed 2 and a third is cut out…the professional outcome belies the simplicity of the sewing. An enjoyable sew!
